Canadian Shipping Surcharge Calculator
Estimate extra fees for one parcel shipped within Canada. Check carrier rules, apply your agreed discounts and see which charges need confirmation. Base shipping, fuel and tax are separate.
Which extra fees could apply?
Enter one parcel to estimate the fees covered by this calculator. Fees that need more information appear separately, outside your total.
Last updated October 7, 2026. Individual fees retain their own source-check dates.
How this estimate works. You get Canadian-dollar estimates for one domestic parcel. Each fee links to its carrier source. Your base shipping price, fuel and tax are separate. Fees with missing prices or unconfirmed eligibility stay outside your total. This calculator does not cover every possible charge, including all seasonal, customs, freight or account-specific fees. Your contract and the carrier's final measurements can change your bill. Check the fuel surcharge tracker for fuel rates and the dimensional weight calculator to see how box size affects billed weight.Carrier sources and coverage
Use these official documents to check the published rules. A listed source does not mean every fee in that document is included. Check each result for its source date and any missing information.
Questions merchants ask about extra fees
Why does my shipping invoice cost more than the rate I was quoted?
Your quoted price may exclude fees for home delivery, signatures, large or heavy boxes, remote areas, fuel or tax. Compare the items included in your quote with the charges on your invoice. Your final measurements and delivery details can also change the price.
Do I pay a home address fee on every residential delivery?
It depends on your carrier, service and contract. Select your carrier and a home delivery to see the rule used in this estimate. The carrier may classify your address differently from the delivery type you select.
What box size triggers an extra handling fee?
Your carrier sets its own size and weight limits. Enter your measurements above to see the rules covered by this calculator. A large or heavy parcel can trigger extra handling or oversize charges, or exceed the service limit.
Is fuel surcharge added on top of these extra fees?
Often, yes. Several carriers state that the fuel surcharge also applies to extra fees such as home delivery and signature. The tracker marks each fee where the carrier says fuel is added.
How current are these amounts?
Each carrier shows the date we last checked its published documents. If a carrier has not been checked in more than 35 days, the tracker warns you before you rely on the number.
